Job Summary
The Chill Spot has now grown into two locations on the Outer Banks - our main store in Corolla and our new store in Duck. As we grow, we are looking to bring someone on board that reflects the cheery, ice cream culture and can help us to see continued success. This job is a seasonal job lasting about 7 months - from early April to late October. Pay is a base salary of $20,000 plus tips when on the line working as a scooper - which is a big part of this job. Based on '23 and '24 numbers we estimate that pay should be around $30,000 for 7 months of work, leaving the off-season open for other seasonal jobs or travel.
We are seeking someone who has experience managing people and order systems. This role could be great for someone well-versed in the food and bev industry looking to take on more responsibility and transition into the next stage of leadership and growth.

Responsibilities:
Ensure staff provides highest quality customer service
Monitor financial performance of the stores
Build customer brand loyalty and trust- assist staff with any needs to be sure they can build the same
Train new hires to the ins-and-outs of both locations
Deal with customer complaints, handling to the best of your ability (consulting up when necessary)
Responsible for stock and orders of ice cream, dry goods, and frozen/refrigerated goods
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulation
Maintain above-average cleanliness standard
Well-groomed and professional appearance, upholding the same standard to staff
Problem solving - knowing the store and business well enough to come up with solutions to problems as they arise
Setting the standard - working and interacting in a way that sets a high standard for all other employees
Create schedule for both stores using scheduling formula, assuring each location is sufficiently staffed and willing and ready to fill gaps or find solutions for missing shifts or call-outs
Monitor employee performance relevant to work habits, customer service, quality/consistency of scooping, and adherence to company policies
Strict adherence to handling of cash, records and bank deposits.
Address employee disputes and concerns to best of your ability (consult up when necessary)
Monitor retail sales and inventory
Create a positive and memorable experience for each customer that comes in the door - holding staff to this same standard.
